1. It is important to have full information on the child’s needs in order that the matching process is as reliable as possible from the referral stage.
2. Upon arrangement being reached regarding the suitability of the proposed placement a pre-placement planning meeting should be held whenever possible.
3. Prior to the placement Homestead Fostering Services and the local authority should discuss:

The purpose of the placement.
•
The duration of the placement.
•
The services beyond the placement which will be required.
